Amprolium is a common anticoccidial used in layers and breaders during the rearing period. It is characterized by its low toxicity and its effectiveness is increased by the presence of sulfaquinoxaline, which has a good effect on Eimeria tenella and necatrix, a medium effect on Eimeria acervulina, and a weak effect on Eimeria maxima and Brunetti. In addition, this preparation is well-used for the treatment of coccidiosis associated with intestinal diarrhea caused by Staphylococcus, E.coli and salmonella infection.
